I didn’t set out to start a skincare brand. I set out to survive—then to heal.
Like many of us, I was forced to slow down during the pandemic. As a practicing pharmacist, I was constantly caring for others’ wellness, but rarely tending to my own. When the world stood still, I started listening more closely—to my body, my thoughts, and the quiet voice of God reminding me that I, too, needed care.
What began as a moment of pause turned into a shift in consciousness. I started making intentional choices: eating better, filtering my mental intake, spending more time outside, and experimenting with simple, plant-based skincare recipes. The kitchen became my lab, and the act of formulating became a form of prayer. I was blending oils, infusing herbs, and watching how nature—gentle yet powerful—could restore skin and soul alike.
That’s when I realized: skincare was never just about beauty. It was about discipline, presence, and reverence.
Each step in a routine became symbolic:
Cleansing was a release.
Moisturizing was protection.
Consistency was love in action.
Over time, my skin changed—but so did I.
I became more grounded. More gracious with myself. More aware of the divine intelligence embedded in nature—and in me.
And so, Vance Cosmetics was born.
Not just as a company, but as a calling.
As a pharmacist, I draw from science. As an herbalist, I honor the plant world. As a woman of Christian faith, I believe that the maintenance of beauty is a sacred act, one that brings us closer to God. Vance Cosmetics is my offering to those who want to care for themselves deeply, intentionally, and with joy.
Every product is a vessel.
Every routine is a ritual.
Every act of care is a step toward healing.
Thank you for letting me share mine with you.
